The Winter Games Return to Italy
The 2026 Winter Olympics will be jointly hosted by Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, marking Italy's return to hosting the Winter Games for the first time since Turin 2006. The snow sports events will take place across three stunning mountain venues in the Italian Alps and Dolomites.
This marks a historic moment for Cortina d'Ampezzo, which hosted the 1956 Winter Olympics and will become only the third city to host the Winter Games twice. The Games will showcase some of the most spectacular and challenging terrain in world skiing, from the legendary Stelvio downhill in Bormio to the freestyle parks of Livigno.
