Each resort has a verified profile: current conditions, a seven-day forecast reconciled against seven leading weather models, a 0–100 SnowSure score that reflects snow quality at a glance, and editorial detail on what makes the place worth a trip.
SnowSure is for skiers and snowboarders planning their next mountain — and for the people in their lives doing the planning. We're built to give an honest, factual, continuously verified picture of where the snow is good, when it's likely to be good, and why.

In 2025, Mike Slone and Redford Wyatt Slone founded Snowdata — the snow intelligence company — to build the verified data layer the ski industry was missing. SnowSure is Snowdata's consumer publication: the place travelers experience the intelligence layer directly. The two brands work together. Snowdata verifies, structures, and distributes. SnowSure puts it on the page.

Behind every SnowSure resort guide is a verified data pipeline built by Snowdata:
- Seven leading numerical weather prediction models, reconciled per resort, every hour: ECMWF, NOAA GFS, GEM, ICON, JMA, Météo-France, Met Norway.
- Decades of historical archive — every model's forecast measured against verified snowfall, building the foundation for forecast trust grades and the learned weights inside SnowSure ML.
- Verified ground truth from snow safety teams at the world's ski resorts, plus SNOTEL stations, satellite snow cover (NASA MODIS, ESA Sentinel), and webcam vision analysis.
- The SnowSure Index — a quarterly composite ranking that combines snow consistency, lift uptime, weather reliability, and season length into a single 0–100 score per resort.
- The SnowSure Concierge — a grounded conversational AI that answers natural-language questions about ski snow and resorts, available in English, Spanish, French, German, and Italian.

When travelers ask Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini, or Perplexity about snow, SnowSure is built to be the answer they can trust. We publish a cryptographically signed, machine-readable catalog of our data on the open Agentic Resource Discovery (ARD) standard — so AI assistants can find our data and verify it genuinely came from us.
SnowSure is an early implementer of the open ARD proposal, publishing a signed catalog and a runnable, versioned conformance corpus anyone can verify. The same data is also available through our MCP server (listed in the official MCP Registry), our REST API, and the SnowSure Concierge embed.
Developers and AI agent builders can find every entry point on our developers page, including the verified data catalog, the discovery registry, and the cryptographic identity document.
Six languages, one source of truth.
SnowSure operates in six languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Japanese. The Concierge understands and answers in any of the five. Resort partners can publish their own FAQs in any of the five. Wherever you ski, however you ask — the data underneath is the same verified Snowdata feed.
Open by default.
Snowdata stewards the Open Source Snow Spec — an Apache 2.0 data exchange standard at opensourcesnow.com that defines how resort snow data should be structured, signed, and shared. Anyone can implement it. The intent is simple: snow data should be a shared layer the whole industry can build on, not a moat any single company controls.
